Darla Engle

Business Owner, CPA

Darla Engle has been a CPA for 25 years! After graduating from Cumberland College (now University of the Cumberlands) in 1989, she worked for other CPAs until she purchased the firm from Alan Walls in 2004. She’s been self-employed ever since.  Although she offers a wide array of services, assisting small businesses is her passion. She serves as the treasurer for Trinity Arts Foundation, Storytelling Resource Place, Appalachian Regional Commission on Homelessness, and Startup TriCities. She also sits on the board for Appalachian Regional Commission on Homelessness. She is a member of both the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. When she escapes the office, she enjoys taking yoga at the Yoga Farm and taking pretty pictures.

Abigail Cornelius

Office Manager/ Bookkeeper/ Notary Public

Abigail began her career at Darla Engle CPA with part-time menial tasks when she was 16. After becoming a full-time employee in 2016, she has wore many hats throughout her time at the firm. She graduated from Tusculum College in 2017 with a Bachelor’s of Business Management.  She also is the resident notary public. Aside from signing things, she maintains books for clients, prepares taxes, and handles whatever special projects are thrown her way. When she isn’t at work, she enjoys yoga classes at The Yoga Farm, hiking, and playing music. 

Shanon Cornelius

Customer Relations Manager

Shanon Cornelius began his career at Darla Engle, CPA in October of 2017. As the face of the company, you can find him answering the phone, taking care of our clients, and at various networking events. When he isn’t at work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Abigail, and his children and grandchildren, playing music, and hiking in the mountains around the area.
